My name is Aleksandra, and I represent Loesje Bulgaria – an NGO telling powerful stories. Loesje is a collective of people who care about the world, the community, and the values we promote.
Loesje is an international creative movement that started in the Netherlands in the 1980s. It was created by young people who wanted to respond to social and political issues in a free, human, and creative way. The name Loesje became the voice behind short poster texts that speak with humor, sensitivity, critical thinking, and hope. Loesje stands for freedom of expression, active citizenship, equality, peace, solidarity, openness, and respect for human dignity. It gives space to different perspectives and encourages people to think for themselves, speak up, and imagine a fairer society.
A Loesje creative writing workshop follows a clear and playful process. It usually begins with warm-up exercises that help participants relax, trust the group, and think more freely. These can include associations, short games, unexpected word combinations, or quick writing prompts. After that, the group chooses a topic from the interests of the participants. Then the writing starts. Participants write many short ideas, sentences, and reactions inspired by the topic. Everything is welcome at this stage. The goal is to let thoughts flow and allow one idea to spark another. When many texts are on paper, the group reads them and circles the strongest ones with colorful pens. This is the selection phase. The group marks the texts that feel fresh, meaningful, surprising, or very Loesje. The selected texts will later be refined and turned into Loesje posters.
Participants who join a Loesje creative writing workshop gain a new way to express themselves and look at the world. They learn to turn thoughts and feelings into short, powerful messages. They open their minds to new perspectives and often discover ideas they did not know they had. They meet people who care about similar topics and enjoy creating together. The workshop builds confidence, imagination, and connection. It helps participants explore their creativity, trust their own voice, and see that words can inspire reflection, dialogue, and change.
